A Commitment to Public Housing

A COMMITMENT TO PUBLIC HOUSING. On Friday, August 4th, the District received a $31 million dollar HOPE VI grant from HUD to build a community for our residents at Capitol Dwellings, Capitol View Plaza and Capitol View. Our previous HUD grants were the catalyst for the development of Wheeler Creek and for the redevelopment of Frederick Douglass/Stanton Dwellings. Combined with our HOPE VI grant, HUD's awards to the District have generated more than a quarter of a billion dollars in investments East of the River.
