HOA

Seriously, let's not turn this into an HOA bashing board. Is there things they can do better? Maybe. But until people that want to bash them want to get up off their butts, give their free time to go to meetings, vote, respond to issues, etc (yeah BTW people board doesn't get paid ya know), then IMO you have no room to complain. Until you've walked a mile in someone's shoes and are actually willing to do that... There was a seat up for grabs, did YOU run for it? If not, then IMO it isn't your place to bash them.
