New Historical Website Has Pix of Sellwood

Oregon Historical Society Sponsors Site

With the help of a grant and of the Multnomah County Library system, the Oregon Historical Society has set up a new section of its website, effective August 14, 2000, with over 500 historic pictures of Portland of the past. The site offers opportunities to browse through specific neighborhoods, including Sellwood-Moreland, with slide shows, including some with narration.

There's even a photo of the Historic Oaks Pioneer Church, on its way up the hill from the Willamette barge which brought it from Milwaukie to its present location, on Spokane Street, near the Sellwood Bridge.
