A Hockessin Gem

Welcome to our intriguing community nestled in the outer highlands of Hockessin, De. Built on rolling open grasslands begining in 1983, Stuyvesant Hills has a historical namesake. In 1665 Petrius "Peter" Stuyvesant arrived in New Sweeden centered at Fort Christina in Wilmington, De., and he is credited with introducing tea to the American colonies. Our community bears street names that refer to Peter Syuyvesant's term as governor of New Netherland, present day New York City.
