It is hard to believe how fast this year is going by. It is once again time to start thinking about and planning for our Annual Summer Day Camp.
This years Day Camp will start on June 23rd, 2003 and will run through August 14th, 2003. This program runs for seven week Monday - Thursday from 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. This program is for children going into the 2nd grade - 6th grade. Their will be a fee for this program. The program includes gym, game room, computers, arts & crafts, devotions, lunch and weekly field trips.
This years Day Camp theme is Survivors. We will be discussing different survivors of the Bible: Moses, Daniel, Jesus, ect.
This years we are planning sometime different to end our Day Camp. We are going to have a Carnival for the children and their parents. We are hoping to obtain funding so we will be able to have this event. If you would like to donate to this event please call 313-532-1500 and ask for Julie.
We look to outside funders in hopes of keeping the cost of Day Camp low to the families in our area. We would like to thank Youth Sports and Recreation Commission for granting us a Mini-grant of $ 4, 500.00 to support to help fund our field trips, transportation and some of our arts & crafts. We are very thankful that they chose our program as one that they would fund in their first quarter of Grants.
We are also able to obtain funds from the Free Press Summer Dreams program. Any money donated to our organization will be doubled by the Skillman Foundation. Please look for the special hand out in the Free Press. It should be out in May.
