CRIME REPORT; 02-21-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…

 

At about 11:40 A.M. yesterday morning, Officer Migliore stopped a vehicle in the 1500 block of Peach for not having an inspection sticker.  Upon contacting the driver, a 28 year old female, it was found that she had five outstanding traffic warrants for her arrest.  She was arrested for the warrants and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

At about 9:30 P.M. last night, Officer Poynor stopped a vehicle for not signaling a turn in the 1500 block of Mesquite.  A K-9 was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle.  The driver, a 53 year old female, was found to be in possession of prescription medication and she did not have a prescription for this medicine.  She was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

 

Finally at about 1:50 A.M. this morning, Officer Poynor stopped a vehicle in the 1100 block of North Treadaway for not signaling a turn prior to the required distance.  A K-9 was called to the scene and alerted on the vehicle.  A passenger of this vehicle, a 46 year old male, was found to be in possession of cocaine.  He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

CRIME REPORT; 02-22-11

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 4:28 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Hall stopped a vehicle in the 1900 block of North 3rd.  The driver, a 26 year old female, was found to have an outstanding warrant for Theft by Check.  She was arrested on this warrant and transported to the Taylor County Jail.

 

At about 5:20 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Harris responded to a shoplifter call at a south side establishment.  Loss prevention officers had observed three male subjects conceal merchandise totaling approximately $357.00 and then leave the store without paying for the items.  The subjects were detained until police arrival.  The three males, two of them 19 and one 18 years old were arrested and charged with Theft.

 

Finally at about 2:40 A.M. this morning, Officer Richardson responded to a call of a disturbance in the 3500 block of South 1st.  Upon arrival it was found that a 19 year old female was causing a disturbance.  After contacting her officers learned that she had several local traffic warrants for her arrest.  Officers began to place the female under arrest and she began to violently resist, even spitting toward the officers at one point.  She was sprayed with pepper spray and was arrested.  She was charged with Resisting Arrest and five local traffic warrants.

CRIME REPORT; 02-23-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 5:00 P.M. yesterday afternoon, Officer Volirakis responded to a call of a shoplifter at a south side establishment.  Upon arrival he learned that a 19 year old female was being detained by loss prevention officers.  The female had taken approximately $240.00 worth of merchandise from the store.  She was arrested and charged with Theft.

 

At about 11:10 P.M. last night, Officer Harris responded to a call of a fight in the 2200 block of Butternut.  Upon arrival he contacted a 46 year old male, who was found to be in possession of an illegal knife.  He was arrested and charged with Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.

 

Finally at about 11:15 P.M. last night, Officer Hall stopped a vehicle in the 2800 block of North 3rd.  The driver, a 30 year old female, did not have a driver’s license and only had a Texas ID card.  Her ID card showed to be suspended.  She was arrested and charged with Driving without a Valid License.

CRIME REPORT; 02-24-11

 

 

 Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered in the past 24 hours…

 

At about 5:10 A.M. yesterday morning, Officer Allen responded to a 911 call of a subject claiming to have taken too many drugs.  As Officer Allen arrived, the subject left the scene in a vehicle.  He was located and stopped in the 1600 block of Campus Court.  The driver, a 32 year old male, was extremely intoxicated.  He refused the field sobriety tests, but admitted to drinking and taking prescription medication.  He also provided a blood specimen.  He was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated.

 

At about 6:20 P.M. last night, Officer Bryan stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of North 10th for failing to signal a turn.  Upon contacting the driver, a 43 year old male, it was found that his driver’s license was suspended.  He was arrested and charged with Driving While License Invalid.

 

Finally at about 10:00 P.M. last night, Officer Volirakis responded to a drunk driver call.  He located the subject in the 1700 block of Butternut.  The driver, a 25 year old male, appeared to be intoxicated.  He admitted to drinking alcohol, but refused any tests.  He was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated; it was also enhanced to a Class A Misdemeanor as the driver has prior convictions for Driving While Intoxicated.
