CRIME REPORT; 02-28-11
Good Morning! Here are some examples of calls answered over the weekend…
At about 11:50 P.M. last night, Sgt. Haak stopped a vehicle in the 800 block of South 18th for failing to maintain a single lane of traffic. Upon contacting the driver, a 27 year old male, it was found that he was intoxicated. He did perform the field sobriety tests and failed. He was placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated. After the arrest, a search of his vehicle revealed a handgun. He was also charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.
At about 1:59 A.M. this morning, Sgt. Haak responded to a theft call in the 1200 block of Portland. A 30 year old female was reporting that she had given a 22 year old male a ride and while they were traveling he took cash without her knowing it. The 22 year old male was contacted and alleged that it was a drug deal gone bad. This case is still under investigation.
Finally at about 2:25 A.M. this morning, Officer Valdez responded to a disturbance call in the 1300 block of Orange. A 31 year old male was banging on doors and causing a disturbance. He was contacted and found to be extremely intoxicated. He was placed under arrest and charged with Public Intoxication.
