Wanna bet?
I'm beginning to wonder why we are even a separate city at this point. We own another house in Lyndon and the taxes are not that much higher. What do we get by being a separate city? Seems like we get a lot of grief and phony bs from our mayor about parking on the grass or other petty stuff and stalling tactics on real issues (like how long does it take to look into something in this electronis age?). We get no real services except garbage. Bellemeade has no money to get the streets salted or snow cleared or to install needed speed bumps. The entrances do look nice.
There are some really nice people on our City Commissionand; some like Renee and Brian always listen or pitch in to help. I don't know Jeff but I appreciate his interest. There are good people on the Commission but no leadeship from the guy with the long term.
Larry, you better look into the Metro guidelines for stop signs.

kitty_katz60 seems to be going out of her way to bait the mayor into an argument. kitty wants to remain anonymous for the fun of it and cause everyone else grief. Don’t fall for it mayor.
It is interesting here that kitty praises three commissioners who stated at a recent commission meeting that they will NOT vote for any more speed humps.
All this negative nastiness here is not good for people trying to sell houses. Play nice kitty. |

I have remained anonymous at my husband's request. And since I am not an elected official, I have a right to do so, thank you. And, speaking of anonymous, I notice you have not given your full name - I have (of course it is my maiden name). You felt grief from my comments? Don't be so thin-skinned.
Negative nastiness? I think if you read previous posts, you will find several caustic and sarcastic posts by a number of people including the mayor. I praised those commissioners despite their position because they are open with their dealings and listen to citizens - mayor laryl does not listen with an open mind. Furthermore, a city government that pays an expert to evaluate the health of trees on private property and to fund replacemnt and maintenance of trees on private property and at the same time not attend to slick streets and speeding issues is certainly not doing much to enhance the image of the city as a place to buy a house except to use for rental property (that seems to be the thing going on right now).
I am not attempting to bait the mayor. I am just unhappy with his lack of OPEN positive leadership. He is an elected official; he seems to conveniently forget that; and just where is it written that elected officials are immune from criticism? Has he not arbitrarily decided to erect stop signs without consulting residents? Tell me that is good for the image of the community. And of course, we will never know if it is on the Commission agenda Monday until after it is over. Tell me that is also image-enhancing.
Criticize me as you wish; that is your Constitutionaly protected right just as it is mine to say what I think even if some conveniently say I am being negative - I think you are being negative if you try to squash my comments. Come to think of it, you are. |
