City of Bellemeade

Why are fireworks still being exploded in Bellemeade as late as 11:30 last night. Are they going off by themselves as result of a delay fuze or are they being lit by people who have no respect for the right of the rest of us to sleep or feel safe and not  have to worry about our house catching on fire from an errant Roaman Candle.

Question:  Does Metro not have a noise ordinance?  Does it apply to Independence Day?

Question 2:  Does the Metro Fire Ordinance not say that fireworks are not to be exploded with 200 feet of a structure?  Is a house a structure?  Is the ordiinance suspended for holidays?

I think you are right that exceptions have to be made every now and then for good reason.  They sure were pretty this year, especially since all of them are legal now.

I enjoyed the fireworks show around my house.  It's only once a year!

I had an early morning meeting in Lexington on the 6th so I went to bed early but was awakened by the sound of fireworks at 11 PM.

I can tolerate fourth of July fireworks on the 4th but not after. And to set them off after 9 pm anytime is not considerate of your neighbors. My elderly neighbors are in bed  by 9 every night and they were upset at being forced awake by fireworks.

I suspect it was teenagers who saved some fireworks for later. My question is where were their parents?
