Water is piped from the canal at the east end of Ocotillo Rd to the area south of Ocotillo and west of Schnepf Rd. The water goes to the nursery's, farms and ranches west of Schnepf. Perhaps we could run a pipe under Schnepf Rd, tie into this supply and install a pump to water the common areas. It may be cheaper than installing a well. Also it would add to the water table instead of taking away from it.

In case some people have never noticed, huge amounts of water go to the nurseries etc. almost daily.

Great idea. I wonder what the legalities are for doing this and what the cost would be. It sounds more beneficial and cheaper, too.

If your talking about the CAP canal, that is owned by the state of AZ (I believe) and the nursereys that draw from it pay per gallan, just like we pay H2O per gallon.  We can not tap into it without permission from the nursery or CAP.  We would need to get approval for that and I don't know if they would or not.  I have been looking into the well idea...so far, I have found it will cost between 50-75k for a well for the common area on Schnepf Rd.

So can we look into getting approval and cost etc.?
