I know both of those cats well. They live behind me and hunt birds and chipmunks in my back yard and all over the neighborhood. They are both great hunters and the orange one is quite large but a very friendly kitty cat. She is always welcome to hunt in my yard. |

"If you are in your own yard with your puppy or dog the animals should either be confined in a secure enclosure or accompanied by the owner and under his/her direct control. Cats and kittens may only roam freely on the property of their owner."
As a homeowner who has made an effort to protect our native birds (and had my yard certified as a backyard habitat by the National Wildlife Federation), it is extremely upsetting to see neighbor's cats hunting at my birdfeeders. I do not expect others to share my concern, but I do ask that they respect my right to provide safe haven to the birds on my property, and not allow their pets to roam.
