City of Bellemeade

Coyote sighting in Mooregate section

Posted in: Bellemeade - Bellemeade

Printed fliers?  Interesting. How did that happen?  You must have a good block captain.   But it looks like people without computers are left to fend for themselves it seems; how can they put anything in it?

The fliers are for the people who do not have computers

What do you mean the pictures of the van went out?  Larry took the picture and posted it on the Bellemeade Home Page, didn't he?  There was absolutely no mention of block watch in his post.

Not sure what your point is. Putting the picture on the website means they "went out". There was also an email that "went out" before it was posted on this site.

I got a flyer about a crime watch meeting at Lyndon City Hall  last month.  Is that the same as block watch?

No idea what you are talking about.

What if we had a crime wave after an ice storm or tornado  like we had not long ago?  How would people be alerted?  I think the concept is really good, but I can not see how a system like that can work unless there is a lot of leadership.  I do agree with you that the people have to be willing to cooperate with their neighbors and that does not always work.  I used to have two neighbors that would not speak because of something about parking a boat trailer on the yard or something like that.  Nobody could count on them.

What if? We can play that all day, well you can, I'm not.

I see Neighborhood Watch signs in Hurstbourne; why don't we have them?  Seems like I read a post asking for volunteers to put up signs several months ago.

No idea.

Kitty, Questions are easy; what are you bringing to the table? How are you going to help? What are your ideas? Have you volunteered your help to your block captain so that they may be more effective? We all do what we can. I answer to no one on my volunteer activities.

My point is; were all residents warned about that van from Block Watch?  Apparently, they were not because the first that I or any of my neighbors heard of the van was on this website.. I have since learned that a resident did send out an alert about the van with pictures he took, but that was five or six days after the first thing was posted on here by the resident on Southampton.  None of my neighbors received that alert.   I wish we had.

No idea what you are talking about.  I got an email from a lady in Wood Road Crime Watch about a meeting in Lyndon City Hall last month.  She was inviting Bellemeade to come too.  I was just asking if it is different since part of Wood Road is in Bellemeade.

Sir, there are lots of people in this city who do NOT get alerts.  I merely am wondering if this plan has a plan that will alert all of the residents in time to be effective; just asking.

Bob, I an asking so many questions for two reasons.  First, I am trying to determine if being a block captain would take more time than I have to offer.  And, I asked you because you are about the only person on here who even mentions Neighborhood Watch.  I am so sorry you misinterpreted my questions, or that I asked them in such a manner as to cause it.  I truly appreciate your interest in Bellemeade and your involvement in the watch program.
