Larry, you wrote:

You are welcome toyour "opinions" but you are wrong about this one.

Actually she may wrong about the stripes (she is!), but I question your reply to her about the paint job.  Councilman Ackerson told me THREE times that he had offered to pay for the speed humps striping back in early summer. Plus, he sent me a courtesy copy of an email dialogue he had with you about painting the speed humps.   But yet, you say he didn't offer to pay for the striping.. And, in the most recent conversation he said he would get the funds to reimburse Bellemeade for the paint BUT NOT OUT OF THE GRANT MONEY.  At the end of that long phone conversation, I asked him to reiterate what he had agreed to do, and there was no mention of using the grant money for the paint jobs. He understood that the sidewalks carried priority.  He then told me that he would call you IMMEDIATELY after we got off the phone and tell you that.  I also sent his office a MEMO FOR RECORD summarizing out long conversation so I would not have to rely on memory (actually I learned to do that as an Army officer).

So, what's the bottom line? Why is there such a conflict in who said what?  How can things get so screwed up like this? How can we just cavalierly be spending money that we didn't need to spend? Who is telling the truth here?

I actually don't think either one of you is lying, but I sincerely do believe that one or both of you never actually hears what others are saying to you because you already have your mind made up or else you think the rest of us are blabbering idiots who would believe anything.  I certainly hope it is not the latter, because you couldn't be more wrong.

I do appreciate the humps being painted and my thanks go out to all of you.  But ...

You're right; I was wrong about the number of lines on the speed humps.  It appears to be more on the side I am driving on because the curve of the hump creates an optical illusion.  And Mayor, you have created an optical illusion in many of your posts, especially the ones about your efforts to get the speed humps painted.  The fact is that you turned down the offer from Jon Ackerson for whatever reason months ago. There is a paper trail to dispute your conflicting contention. I do agree with the previous poster that you have a very closed mind and, I might add,  a superiority attitude that has no room for ideas different from your own.  You say you listen, but that is not true.  You may listen, but you don't hear.

You painted two lines at the stop signs on North Chadwick, but there are six other approaches to stop signs on North Chadwick alone that have no line.  That is very confusing.  Do the other approaches not have to stop???  People fuss about stop sign runners at Charing Cross and Bellemeade Road.  Why no lines their?

OMG!!  In my aggravation with mayor I made a crude error on the last word of my previous post.  Oh My Gosh!!!  I should have written "there, "not "their." I guess the fact that mayor acts like he owns everything put me in a pissessive frame of mind.

The newly painted lines are REALLY getting results on my end of the street. Drivers are actually slowing down before they hit the speed bump!  That is progress!
