I tried for two years to get Metro Public Works to repaint them and they refused.
Councileman Ackerson has offered to reimburse us out of the grant money.
We did not want to wait any longer to get the job done at the least cost to the taxpayers.
You are welcome to your "opinions" but you are wrong about this one.
I could not believe my eyes this morning at what was happening in fron of the house next door. The speed humps on North Chadwick were being painted today - AGAIN - this time by Metro. So, now Bellemeade has paid to have them painted, and Metro has paid to have them painted - all in approximately in ONE MONTH!
I honestly think there is a serious lack of communication between Bellemeade and Metro, not only on the painting of the speed humps, but on many other issues. In my several conversations with various Metro officials, I have received a lot of information that conflicts with what I get from Bellemeade and what has been posted on here by our Bellemeade mayor. And to use one of your terms Miss Kitty, I am also SMDH because we deserve better than that. We certainly don't need waste of taxpayer money resulting from lack of communication or from hard-headed officials who are not hearing what other people are saying.
Councilman Ackerson said he had offered to get the speed humps painted, but Bellemeade refused. Mayor Larry Odom-Groh said Metro refused. Then he said he (Larry) didn't want to wait for Metro, so Bellemeade spent money to paint the lines on the speed humps. A month later Metro spent money to paint over the new paint Bellemeade had painted. If this were not a flagrant waste of our tax money, it would be downright comical..
Time for a change.
