We want to thank Vicki Stearman for all the work she did getting the speed humps for us.  I agree four are not enough..I hope when they are intalled on Bellemeade Rd. there will be an adequate number.   Also thanks to all who are working on the Block Watch program...we appreciate your efforts.

Thanks you (aka Vicki Stearman)

Dusk is drawing near as I sit at my kitchen table looking out in the direction of the first speed hump that drivers encounter as they speed from Shelbyville Road northward toward Charing Cross and Whipps Mill,  I see that many of them are totally oblivious to the fact that children are walking down the street after having gotten off the school bus at the intersection of Southampton, Dorchester, and North Chadwick.  Some of the speeding vehicles are passing with two feet of the children just like they were not there. What a bunch of ........!!!

Chidren often suddely weave and wobble, skip and hop, change diections six times in five seconds, and do all sorts of unexpected moves.  How can anyone be as calloused as these drivers are to continue their selfish, reckless driving and cell phone talking so close to small children?  Something must be done before we have a needless tragic death.

After I post this, I will call LMPD and request police presence for this time of day based on what I just saw.  Also, I think we need to call Jon Ackerson and the Metro Mayor (he is running for Lieutenant Governor you know), and keep calling them until we get results to include putting in two additional speed humps and put them in the right places.  And, Bellemeade City Commissioners, please help us too.

I agree with you.  Vehicles (most are cutting through) whip around the corner from Shelbyville Road to North Chadwick slamming on their brakes at the first speed hump since the first speed hump is too far into our neighborhood.  I can only speak to the Shelbyville Road end of North Chadwick.
