LG&E has had a long standing problem with old trees in our neighborhood. After loosing power for long lengths of time for several years I purchased a natural gas powered standby whole house generator and no longer loose everything in the freezer. It is worth the cost.
It would take losing a lot of food to make up for a $10,000 price for a natural gas generator. I don't have that kind of money after having to remove 2 large trees on my property. We have a gas powered generator, but with the price of gas being what it is, we only run it for short times. No offence, but I sometimes find it hard to believe how out of touch you are with the real world and the problems of real people who work hard for every dollar.
Amen, amen, amen on the "out of touch" part concerning the rev, Finally, I heard someone else say it beside Reba and me. When is his term up? If we re-elect him, we should all be horsewhipped.
And, I priced one of those generators (actually my husband did) and it was 7 grand for a 17K. According to our research findings, a 17K is about the minimum for a house the size of the ones in Bellemeade. One resident has a 23K and it cost a lot more. I sure hope the rev mayor did not get a kickback because of his position - I think that is illegal, unethical at the least ...just saying.
