They (LG&E)  took one down in my back yard.  In fact, it had grown up through the lines and it looked terrible after they trimmed it.  I called LG&E and got the same run around; so I went to the top of LG&E and they took it down less than 3 days later. They even stacked the wood in my back yard (it is still there).

You must be relatively new to Moorgate.  The county used to remove dead canopy trees on Chadwick FREE!   We have called LGE several times when neighbor's trees were on the lines and they usually came within a resonable time (not counting the large outages from the last storm.   Has it ever been determined who owns the canopy trees on Chadwick? I have two and for about 35 years I thought they were mine...I am sure they will be if one or both needs to be removed.  Several neighbors were smart enough to get rid of them when it was FREE...that only applied to dead canopy trees.

In my experience, LG&E will not do anything until it interferes with the line. I have a neighbor that called them about a tree that was actually touching the lines and they would not come out. He and I trimmed it ourselves.

There you go.  Nobody is going to help as long as money is involved.  I'm thinking seriously about moving out but can't imagine trying to sell a house in this economy.  I have friends who live on Flatrock Rd and one in a a subdivision off Dorsey Way and neither one of them have lost power at all in the past 5 years.  Something is wrong here.
